Reformed German metallurgists Accept have been nominated for not just eins but zwei awards from the German edition of premier U.K. metal mag Metal Hammer. On the heels of top-selling 2010 comeback album Blood of the Nations, Jackson-wielding guitarist Wolf Hoffman and his bandmates now find themselves twice in the running for a Metal Hammer Award Germany 2011—for “Best German Band” and “Best Metal Anthem” for Blood’s “Teutonic Terror.”

Hoffman, who shreds on a custom Jackson King V, joined Accept in 1976 (the band’s roots go back to 1968) and has been a mainstay of the lineup ever since. Mainstream success came in 1983 with Balls to the Wall and a slew of successful albums and a couple of hiatuses/resurrections ensued through 2005, making Accept one of Germany’s biggest and most successful metal bands. Accept reconvened in 2009 with new singer Mark Tornillo and recorded Blood of the Nations, their 12th studio album and highest-charting disc to date.

Voting is now under way at the German edition of the Metal Hammer website; winners will be announced later in the year.
