Decibel Magazine Reviews a Jackson RRXMG Rhoads X Series

June 27, 2012

Decibel’s Matt Olivo picked up a Jackson RRXMG Rhoads X Series for a hands-on review in the magazine’s June issue.

Olivo said the RRXMG is “cool-looking,” and that it possesses a “keen utility.” He also said that the guitar’s neck was designed for high performance.

“The neck shape and fingerboard are engineered for shred,” said Olivo. “So expect a brilliant pairing of comfort and speed.”

Olivo knows speed – he’s the founding guitarist of extreme metal trailblazers Repulsion.

A common belief among metal heads is that the RRXMG Rhoads is not the most comfortable axe to play, but Olivo dispelled that misconception after shredding away in pure comfort.

“When this gat is strapped, it sits comfortably in the center of your metal pose,” he said. “True nirvana may be reached like this or in sitting. While in the lotus, the short wing gently caresses your inner thigh (meow) while the long one on top provides a comfortable elbow rest.”
